Is Gold PVD hypoallergenic?

What's the difference between Gold PVD, gold plating, and gold vermeil?

Traditional gold plating is a thin layer of gold electroplated onto a base metal like brass or copper, and it wears off relatively quickly. Gold vermeil is a thicker gold layer over a sterling silver base, offering more durability but at a higher price and it can still tarnish. Gold PVD, bonded onto surgical stainless steel in a vacuum process, sits between the two: it's more durable and tarnish-resistant than standard plating, and more affordable than vermeil or solid gold.

How do you care for Gold PVD jewellery?

Put jewellery on last when getting ready, to avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and hairspray, and remove it before swimming, showering, or exercising. Wipe pieces gently with a soft microfibre cloth after wearing, store them separately in an airtight bag, and avoid abrasive cleaners or silver dips, which can damage the PVD coating.
